Kick-off of project team at IEM

Whole realization team met on the kick-off meeting atInstituteofExperimental Medicine AV CR.Goalof this meeting was its familiarization with structure of project activities, its schedule and tasks of each partner of the project.

Project introduction at VCJB colloquium

The Medetox project was introduced by dr. Vojtíšek on colloquium of Josef Božek Research Centre for Combustion Engine and Vehicle technologies (VCJB) atPrague.

Kick-off meeting of LIFE+ program projects

Dr. Topinka, dr. Vojtíšek and mgr. Konečná (deputy of provider from Ministry of the Environment), attended kick-off meeting of all approved LIFE+ program projects in middle Europe countries in Warsaw (Poland) at 24. 11. 2011. Current experience was shared with deputies of other project after end of negotiation.

Visit of important European laboratories

Dr. Topinka visited dr. Vojtíšek at university of Biel at 14. – 19. 11. They together attended experiments with exposition chamber and visit toxicology laboratories of prof. Barbara Rothen at University of Fribourg (Switzerland), prof. Morin at University of Rouen (France) and laboratory of piston combustion engines at research centre CERTAM in Saint Etienne du Rouvray (France). Visited laboratories are identified as institutes where active collaboration of emissions and other engine tests laboratories with toxicological laboratories taking place.

Project introduced at CAS conference

3. – 4. 11 2011 is Medetox project introduced on Annual Conference of Czech Aerosol Society. The primal results of analysis of PM collected by TUL team during previous project were presented by dr. Topinka.

Project presented at CZ-TPID

The MEDETOX project was presented on conference of the Czech Technology Platform on Industrial Safety. An overall treatise in Czech language about emissions and risks connected to nanoparticles from piston combustion engines.

Dr. Vojtíšek introduces project on Josef Božek Center for Engines and Automobile Research meeting as a new direction of real driving exhaust emission assessment. This meeting took place at CTU educational centre at Herbertov (Vyšší Brod).

Foreign research fellowship of dr. Vojtíšek

Dr. Vojtíšek has been on second part of creative vacation. He worked at visiting professor at laboratory on exhaust emissions of Jan Czerwinky at the University of Applied Sciences of Biel during this vacation. This fellowship was focused to extend experience on measuring and sampling particulate matter. This includes sampling exhaust gas by exposition chamber with cell cultures and own creative work inspecting effect of biofuels on emissions of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).

Opening meeting at Ministry of the Environment

The opening meeting of this project realized at Ministry of the Environment on 19. 9. 2011. Attended by dr. Topinka (ÚEM AV ČR), dr. Vojtíšek (TUL), mgr. Konečná (MŽP) and mgr. Gruntorád (ME).

The report about research on exhaust gas toxicity in theCzech Republichas been created on 15. 9. 2011. This report is part of International Energy Agency report – Implementing Agreement on Advanced Motor Fuels, „Toxicity of Exhaust Gases and Particles from IC-Engines – International Activities Survey (EngToxIn)

The Medetox project was introduced on Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) ICE-2011 conference at Napoli (11. 15. 9. 2011). Dr. Vojtíšek and Ing. Pechout presented their results aimed on biofuels combustion.

The Medetox project was introduced on XXXX. International scientific conference of the Czech and Slovak Universities’ Departments and Institutions Dealing with the Research of Combustion Engines at Žilina (Slovakia). Four presentations were performed by dr. Vojtíšek and Ing. Pechout focused on exhaust emissions, their measurements and harmfulness.
